Each year, the Lodi Grape Festival draws thousands of visitors who come to enjoy food, wine tasting, grape murals, live entertainment, a carnival, and more. The grape mural competition is a trademark of the festival, where community groups—including FFA chapters—design and create murals that are covered by locally grown grapes. Each grape is polished with vegetable oil before the artist glues it into place on a foil covered framework.
This month, we had the privilege of attending both the South Coast Sectional Leadership Conference and two of the North Coast Sectional Leadership Nights with plenty of chapter visits sprinkled in between.
Nationwide’s Golden Owl Award® recognizes extraordinary agricultural teachers in nine states and supplies funding to advance their programs.
Each summer, thousands of FFA members descend on the nation’s capitol to participate in one of FFA’s most exciting leadership experiences—Washington Leadership Conference (WLC).
It certainly feels like a party for the state officers, who have been traveling up and down the state for expos, seminars, tours, SOLCs, chapter visits…and even baseball games!
Agricultural internships are an invaluable opportunity for students to learn about companies in the field, develop professional skills, and build relationships with industry leaders. They also provide an opportunity for unique hands-on experiences. This summer, FFA members from throughout the state participated in ag internships. Read about their experiences, and consider applying for an internship program next summer.
