The California FFA State Officer Team has embarked on another busy month, diving straight into action after a brief home break. Our month began with a tour of California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly) in San Luis Obispo. We toured the agricultural facilities, including the school farm, meat processing lab, and dairy unit—where we treated ourselves to some delicious ice cream! We had the privilege of meeting Dr.

The state officer team kicked off our August adventures at the California Youth Ag Expo in Tulare. During our time there, we watched the various livestock shows, presented awards, and even helped run the ‘Farm to Fiber Fashion’ show!

I had the incredible opportunity to attend the National FFA’s Next Gen Food Products and Processing Systems Conference, an experience that has broadened my perspective and deepened my understanding of the food industry.

Each year at the State FFA Leadership Conference, four FFA members are honored with State Star Awards for outstanding accomplishments in FFA and agricultural education.

The 2023-24 State Officers have spent an entire year serving California FFA. Their service has enriched the lives of many members across the state as they served as ambassadors for agricultural education. During the conference, each officer has taken the stage to share their retiring address.

Agricultural Proficiency Awards honor FFA members who, through supervised agricultural experiences, have developed specialized skills that they can apply toward their future careers. Proficiency winners were announced at the 2024 State FFA Leadership Conference sessions throughout the day.

SACRAMENTO Calif. — Members and supporters of the California Future Farmers of America (FFA) returned to the Golden 1 Center for the fifth session of the 96th State FFA Leadership Conference in Sacramento, with the theme of “Teaching for the Stars.”

During this session, supporters who have made an immense impact on the association were recognized with Honorary State Degrees, listed at the end of this article.
