Summer Travels with the State Officer Team: Conferences, Fairs, and Expos

Starting in mid-June, the state FFA officer team has had a jam-packed schedule, beginning with traveling to the California Agricultural Teachers’ Association (CATA) conference in San Luis Obispo. There, we had the opportunity to introduce ourselves to ag teachers from all over the state. While in the area, we stopped in Santa Maria to escape the Central Valley heat wave and visit our State Treasurer, Melissa Lua-Duarte’s family.

Harvesting Knowledge: Lessons Learned from My Summer Internship

State Officer Update: Hitting the Coast for Leadership Development

In rounding out the month of August, the state officer team paid a visit to Temecula, the home of California FFA State Secretary, Makena Stanisai. During this visit, they explored the area, taking in the sights at an olive oil company and spending quality time with the students of Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac Catholic High School.

Pants for Pets: El Centro FFA's Dog Toy Service Project

The El Centro FFA chapter made a remarkable contribution to the Imperial County Humane Society during National FFA’s Week of Service Campaign by creating 479 dog toys. Led by senior member Amber Weller, the dedicated students from the leadership team and community service committee organized a school-wide jean drive. The donated jeans provided material for the creation of durable and much-need dog toys for a local animal shelter. 

State Officer Update: Ringing in the Busy New Year

We're ringing in the new year with MFE and ALA conferences, the Blue Corduroy Classic, and updates on the 95th Annual California FFA State Leadership Conference! The state officers kicked off the new year with leadership training for the Made For Excellence and Advanced Leadership Academy conferences, facilitated by team leaders and California FFA’s Leadership Development Coordinator, Ms. Jasmine Flores. These conferences are held statewide at the following locations: Sacramento, Monterey, Ontario, Redding, Modesto, and Visalia.
