In rounding out the month of August, the state officer team paid a visit to Temecula, the home of California FFA State Secretary, Makena Stanisai. During this visit, they explored the area, taking in the sights at an olive oil company and spending quality time with the students of Saint Jeanne de Lestonnac Catholic High School.
On September 9, the officers headed south to Santa Maria’s Career Technical Education Center & Agricultural Farm, where they were hosted by the South Coast regional officer team for the Sectional Officer Leadership Conference (SOLC). The theme for this conference was "Blossoming Brilliance," and over the course of two days, the officer teams received valuable training aimed at helping them serve the sections of the South Coast Region effectively this year.
The following weekend brought the North Coast Region’s Chapter Officer Leadership Conference (COLC), held at Santa Rosa Junior College’s Shone Farm. The North Coast team embraced their theme, "G.R.I.T," which stands for Grow, Rise, Inspire, Together. They used this theme to impact chapter officers and provide support for their year of service ahead.
September 18 marked the State Executive Committee Meeting, a gathering that delved into various business matters. The committee consisted of the State Officer Team and the six regional presidents: Jesus Martinez Diaz (North Coast), Adam Jones (Superior), Dawson Donich (Central), Patrick Palmer (San Joaquin), Siena Boscaro (South Coast), and Paloma Wizikowski (Southern). During this meeting, decisions were made and comprehensive reports were presented, all related to the FFA's business for the year.
The next day, the National Delegate Training took place, attended by the 31 student delegates who had been selected to represent California FFA at the National FFA Convention and Expo. This training included discussions about their roles during the convention and provided important information about topics to be addressed within the business session.
Throughout the past month, the team has been diligently preparing for the upcoming chapter visits, gearing up for what promises to be an exciting and productive year ahead.
