SACRAMENTO, March 22, 2022 — More than 5,500 Future Farmers of America (FFA) members and supporters from across the state of California will celebrate agricultural education and the agriculture industry during the 94th State FFA Leadership Conference being held on March 26-29 in downtown Sacramento.
This time-honored tradition, held virtually the last two years, will be in-person and hosted in Sacramento for the first time since 1929, with conference activities taking place at the Golden 1 Center and the newly renovated SAFE Credit Union Convention Center.
The conference is an opportunity for students to be exposed to a broad range of agricultural science, business and technology career pathways, while celebrating the accomplishments these future leaders achieved over the past school year.
Across downtown Sacramento, the streets will be filled with FFA members donned in the iconic blue corduroy jacket. Throughout the four days, participants will attend general convention sessions at the Golden 1 Center where they will be inspired by their peers and talented speakers, including Sacramento Mayor Pro Tem Eric Guerra, California Department of Food & Agriculture Secretary Karen Ross and State Superintendent of Public Instruction Tony Thurmond. In the expo hall at the SAFE Credit Union Convention Center, members will explore various post-secondary career and college opportunities available to them. In addition, attendees can attend agricultural tours across the Sacramento area and participate in leadership workshops.
As a student-led organization, general conference sessions will provide the opportunity for middle and high school students enrolled in agricultural education classes to conduct the business of the California FFA Association. They will vote on constitutional proposals and elect the new officers who will lead the association through the 2022-23 year.
The California FFA Association is part of a school-based national youth leadership development organization of more than 735,000 student members in 8,817 local FFA chapters across all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
